Jay Maas is a producer, engineer and musician from Boston, MA. His recording resume reads like a who’s who of contemporary underground music. Operating out of his personal studio, Getaway Recording, he has produced and engineered recordings for bands such as Title Fight, Defeater, Counterparts, Bane, Transit, Verse, Make Do And Mend, No Trigger, Cruel Hand and Strike Anywhere.


The drums for this library were provided by SJC Custom Drums. SJC was started by brothers Mike and Scott Ciprari in their grandmother’s basement and has since grown to their current position as one of the most popular custom drum makers in the world. Their artists include Tre Cool (Green Day), Cyrus Bolooki (New Found Glory), Zach Lind (Jimmy Eat World), Branden Steineckert (Rancid), Ryan Leger (Every Time I Die), Andrew Tkaczyk (The Ghost Inside), Alex Shelnutt (A Day to Remember), Mat Nicholls (Bring Me The Horizon) and MANY more.

 

Formats:

Slate Digital Trigger
Trigger is a real-time drum replacement tool that monitors the close microphone channel of a drum recording and replaces it with a velocity-matched sample. Because Trigger is intended to be used for shell replacement, cymbals are not available in this format.

Wavemachine Labs Drumagog 5
Drumagog is a real-time drum replacement tool that monitors the close microphone channel of a drum recording and replaces it with a velocity-matched sample. Because Drumagog is intended to be used for shell replacement, cymbals are not available in this format.

Native Instruments Kontakt 5 - Full Version (Standalone, VST, AAX, AU)
The latest full version of Kontakt (5.4.2.245) is required. The free Kontakt player is NOT officially supported.

Massey DRT 2 (Full Version)
DRT 2 is a non-realtime drum replacer that reads timbre and velocity information of a drum performance to generate MIDI or print samples. The full version of DRT is required for use with our pre-configured DRT stacks.

WAV
All kit pieces are included as 44.1 KHz .wav files. Through the use of these files, our samples are compatible with virtually every hardware and software sampler. The files are non-normalized, preserving the original playing dynamics and allowing for flexibility in programming.

Grooves:

The MIDI grooves for the Jay Maas Signature Series Drum Sample Library were performed by Matt Greiner (August Burns Red) and Joe Longobardi (Defeater). The grooves are organized modularly by tempo so that you can use the component parts to quickly build the structure of your drum performance.
