violet’s sounds sit somewhere between distorted and delicate - grungy textures softened by atmospheric details. “I’ve always been drawn to that contrast: rough edges next to something fragile.” This attention to feeling eclipses genre rules for the 19-year-old artist/producer, who draws from underground and alternative rap but avoids locking into one lane: it’s always about the mood. As a producer, they’ve lent this perceptive ear for the inbetween to artists like kuru, fakemink, caspr, mental, Miraie, and Nosgov, building out soundscapes that feel worn-in, slightly imperfect, and engaged with the artist’s world.


‘traces’ is a reflection of that very approach: emotional textures that feel lived in, chaotic but intentional, beauty found in the rough. violet’s 4th kit is full of character across the spectrum: the uplifting supersaws and; growling saw waves of 2010s EDM meet the clipped rage of contemporary rap. Drums start from skittering hat rolls before veering into shuffling dancefloor territory.
