Most players say that modes and technique are two areas that they would like to help take their playing to the next level. Well now you can! Brian Maillard teaches you how to use the modes creatively while supercharging your chops in the process!

n the beginner section of the full course, you'll work on the two most common minor modes, Dorian and Aeolian. These share some common notes with the ever popular Minor Pentatonic scale so there will be an element of familiarity if you're already into your pentatonic work! This volume will cover alternate picking, sliding, ghost notes, legato, bending and dynamic control all using the Dorian and Aeolian modes creatively! This section will give you a nice foundation for the modes, and get you started with some of the more interesting techniques. Combining the theory knowledge and techniques you learn will leave you with plenty of options for creating those interesting modal soloing ideas! If you're a complete modes beginner don't fret (pun intended), we've laid everything out for you with diagrams and theory explanations too! You'll also find backing tracks, and 'workout' videos to get you playing!

In the Intermediate volume we'll be focussing on the Mixolydian mode! Along with learning the mixolydian mode all over the neck (with diagrams too!) we'll be taking the mode through all sorts of paces such as legato exercises. These will help you practise and develop your technique at a slightly higher level than the beginner volume, and we're sure you'll find some interesting and challenging ideas too! We'll also be working on adding chromatic passing tones, and different pentatonic combinations! To round this volume off Brian has 10 very creative and challenging intermediate licks for you to learn and a full solo to bring everything together.

In the final volume, the advanced edition, we take everything to a whole new level with the lydian mode! This package is where your modal skills will be furthered and your technique will be truly tested! Brian has created some tough challenging licks that will have you developing your advanced arpeggios, sweep picking ideas and hybrid picking ideas amongst others! You'll then need to conquer 10 example licks designed to push your creativity and technique to new heights! Rounding everything off is a brilliant solo (in 7/4!) that will be the final challenge for the whole course.

So even if you're a complete modal novice, you've got a firm grip on the modes, or you're already a modal master looking for new ways to spice up your soloing and supercharge your technique, we've got something here for everyone. It's going to be a challenge, but you're going to learn a lot along the way! This course will develop your theory and technical skills in a creative and enjoyable manner. We'll see you on the other side!

As ever, we have included everything you need to practise and perfect the material in this package. There are video and audio tracks for you to watch/listen and study, accurately transcribed TAB/notation for you to analyse and master, and backing tracks for everything!
